It's a beautiful life

Isn't it?

Life is pretty good and hopefully for all y'all as well.
Lately I've been watching the Harry Potter movies with a couple of friends in preparation to see the 8th (7 part 2) and final movie - And the time has almost come! (As in we're done watching the past ones, but aren't going to see the new one until tomorrow as it's cheap Tuesday ;>).
SO! I shall let you know what I think :)
I hadn't seen the Harry Potter movies in quite some time, so it was good to catch up. It's interesting watching them close to one another so you can see the increasing appeal to adults in the later movies and also just watching the main characters grow. Harry Potter (and everyone else) looks so little in The Philosopher's Stone (the first one)! And then, in every movie after that... he just looks plain awkward (at least I think so). But look how cute they were~!

Anyone else follow Harry Potter??

Annnndddd on to a much better topic...ice cream :D Just kidding, but I did have a fairly good amount of ice cream this weekend ;) PLUS I've corrupted one of my room mates into eating ice cream more >:3 (she likes it with my cookie dough). And I have yet to do a rundown on her...but I'll call her Mami ;) {I've been watching Harry Potter with her, her friend, and my other room mate}. Speaking of Mami's friend...(I'll call him Superman), he had a Birthday on Friday and party on Sunday (I got to be a part of both days). And I got to eat some pretty delicious cake...seriously. Anyways, Happy Birthday Superman!

And with that I'm calling it a day! Yesterday and today I've been listening to Ace of Base... they're awesome.

Fare well for meow :)!

P.S. Ace of Base (The Sign) was my first CD...I "borrowed" it from my sister Lambie ;)

RANDOM FACT ABOUT ME -- Sometimes I have a tendency to either make up words or add suffixes to the end of words, where they should not be added. Example...
We were in choir and working on a more difficult song, so the guys and the girls went in separate rooms to practice. The guys come back at the end.
Me: "Did you enjoy your male bondage time?"
Everyone: o.o (stares and laughs awkwardly)
Me: "Oh shoot..." -.-

Five Things Friday!

5 Things Friday
Things that make me happy...

1. Well this one is pretty obvious. Take one guess. Ice Cream. Seriously though, it's just so good! And lately I've been having vanilla with Heath (from the U.S. {brought back from Texas} similar to Skor) crushed up into it. The delicious chemistry that occurs is just...yum. 'Nuff said.

2. Sun! If the sun is shining, that day is almost guaranteed to be better. The sun brings warmth, which brings happy/relaxing thoughts (to my head anyways), which brings happiness overall!

3. Sleep :). Glorious glorious sleep. Can influence the next day a LOT. Good sleep = good day (usually)

4. Helping others feel happy. This may sound silly but focusing on someone else helps take your mind off of bad things going on with you. In my case anyways ;)

(this picture also made me happy :D)

5. My new ASUS Eee Tab :D Basically, it's like an iPad...but better because I've got it ;) Soooo that's it, that's all folks! Other things make me happy but this is what came to mind today ;)

Ciao for meow :)!

RANDOM FACT ABOUT ME -- So it was just reaffirmed to me that I'm a wee bit of a piggy... a lot of food could (and almost did) make this list -.- haha!

So another major thing that makes me happy is music! Especially this song - Arcade Fire...you're awesome.

Wet bum :(

Need I say more?

Ok - ok! So basically... yesterday was our laaaaaast soccer game (awwwww :l now what??). I figured it would be canceled because just a couple hours before the game was scheduled, it started absolutely POURING. But within half an hour it had passed over, leaving blue skies and sun! SO to soccer I went, and the first half went quite well. When it came to second half, you could see absolutely BLACK clouds creeping in...but on we played! And then the rain came down (and the floods came up - just kidding)... and I'll just say, I couldn't have been more wet if I were swimming. Drenched! But it was fun :D
Moral of the story?? Weather here is absolutely ridiculous -.- (and yes, we lost ;>)
Continuing on...
SO I had to get into moi car absolutely drenched and dripping (picture a soggy rat...or sweet little puppy?), thus making my seat get quite wet as well. And I figured out this morning that the seat was not dry at all *.* Thus equating to my present wet bum situation. :( Denim takes too long to dry! (and apparently so do car seats...)

Toodles for meow :)!

RANDOM FACT ABOUT ME -- I love the rain, but I hate being cold... Also, I dislike having to sit around in a state of wetness (unless it's on a beach).

Wet bum, signing out...

"Mmmm"unchy Monday ;)

Embrace the lameness... now break embrace and listen to me.

This will sound ridiculous, but it was tasty!
Last night, my room mates and I were watching Harry Potter 2 when we realized we were quite famished. SOOOO I suggested KD and perogies (the only food I had in my ownership...besides ice cream and watermelon) and we decided that was exactly what we needed. And it was! KD and (potato/cheese) perogies go pretty marvelously together - I kid you not.
Step 1: make KD
Step 2: fry (or boil as my roomies did) perogies (I fried mine...)
Step 3: add desired seasoning (or sour cream {roomies})
Step 4: feast upon deliciousness

Keep in mind we were quite starving and that may or may not have influenced our taste buds...

Hope weekends were celebrated and adventures were had!

Byeas for meow :)!

RANDOM FACT ABOUT ME -- I've been putting off grocery shopping for a really long time...

Take Your Medicine >:l

Ok there is no medicine... But this song is fantastic as well! And I wasn't sure if you fine folk would check it out if I didn't put the link up on here! And this song is definitely worthy of being listened to. So happy :)!

Hope ya enjoy :D

Behind Sapphire & 5 Things Friday :D

Alright, I may as well make at least ONE more post about Behind Sapphire. SO I (and Strongbad) got to hang out with them one more time before they left Calgary. (Which included Tubby Dog and Bubble Tea!) I even tried a couple of the Dogs...(as in one bite of 2 kinds)....1. Sumo Dog(?) with seaweed, some sort of ginger, and I don't even know what else. 2. Peanut Butter, Jam, and Captain Crunch (yes on a hot dog). What I'm going to say - they were interesting ;)
I did however get myself a Bubble Tea (as per a suggestion from Steven {drums}) of Mango Peach with pearls. It was pretty scrump :D!
Then we went back out (to Strongbad's aunt and uncle's place) to watch a movie. We had in mind to watch O Bother, Where Art Thou, but well... that just was not in the cards apparently! So instead, Brayden {bass} made the executive decision that we'd watch How To Train Your Dragon (as he hadn't yet seen it). As you may or may not remember from this post, I was a big fan of the movie... BUT I seemed to use Steven as a pillow for half the movie anyways ;)

Tuesday (not to mention car problems) I ended up going to Stampede with BK, Strongbad, White China, Francesca, & Francesca's squeeze {haha...still no rundown or new name yet ;)}. Anyways, it was my first Stampede experience - and it was a lot of fun! There were good rides, good eats, and good times (even after it started raining near the end). Highlights from the venture... 1. Starship 4000 {an anti-gravity type ride} - at the end of the night the guy running the ride would let us stand up and flip upside down and such. So fun! Except he kept leaving the "control board" and coming to talk to me(?) Weird.... ._.
2. Lemonade! I love getting the lemonade at these things. It's so tasty!
3. New toe ring! (I don't think you need a description on that...)
4. Missing soccer to stay later at Stampede! (for shamesies on me). >:3
5. The motocross show. These guys do absolutely INSANE things, I would die...seriously.

AND on to Wednesday. Strongbad {at the wheel}, Francesca and myself headed down to the Bridge to see Behind Sapphire perform an actual set live. Matt {guitar} was kind of difficult to track down ;), SO we ended up hanging out with my parents for a few hours. We had dinner, played cards, talked - fun times.
Then finally it was time to head to the Owl Acoustic Lounge! And it was so good! Such a high energy performance with great songs. I even bought a CD - yay! (Yes, I'm a groupy...but they're really talented!)
We then got to hang out with them for a while after the performance...help take down, help Steven play Tetris to get all of their equipment and things shoved in the back of the van, help Grant {vocals} eat some peaches ;), and then say good bye :(.
It was so sad that it was finally over. You guys are absolutely fantastic, and I cannot wait until I get to see you again! {Miss you!}
And for all those reading out there...if you haven't checked them out yet, do it now!
Here's the link to their page again. Or just YouTube them! I promise it's worth your time.
My favorite songs arrreeee...... 1. Lest Ye Stay
2. Oh My, What A Fine Day
3. Christmas Nigh
4. Nearer My God To Thee
5. Just their little videos. They're quite amusing ;)
(It was the best reason to be up til 4 and get up at 7:30 for work the next day...I think)

So...I've already had 2 mini lists of 5 things. But I decided I'm going to do an actual 5 Things Friday list (as you may have seen on other bloggy mcbloginsteins). The theme of this week will be music.

5 Things Friday
Music Edition

1. Well because I've been talking a lot about Behind Sapphire lately, I should definitely share at least one of theirs. This is probably my favorite song (you'll need to turn it up a bit as it is a recording from a live show). But they do have some songs on YouTube that are better quality ;)

Note: As you may notice...there are a lot of people in the band at that time. Their band is kind of ever changing. But Matt, Grant, and Steven are pretty core members I'd say. Brayden isn't in the video...but he's awesome nonetheless ;)

2. I actually found this just recently. And I find especially this song amusing because she sounds so similar to Nicki Minaj (P.S. I'm not saying I'm a huge fan or anything :P). I kind of think this cover is better than the original though :X. I also checked out a few of her other songs...but she sounds like...well kind of like an annoying rapping girl in all of them. She's definitely got some skills, just saying I'm not the biggest fan of all of her covers. She has some originals as well if you want to check those out ;)

**SIDENOTE** I would post the actual videos on here for all of these....But I don't know how to put up more than one D: (And I just figured out how to put just one up today). Help me??
**RETURN**

3. I have no idea why I thought of this song today.... But Shout by Tears for Fears is my #3.
I don't have any story behind it, nor reasoning for picking it. Basically, it just sounds amusing to me.

4. Metric! We were listening to one of their CD's on the way to the Bridge. I have a few favorites (Help I'm Alive, Dead Disco, Sick Muse and more), but I decided to post a link to Gold Guns Girls. I've only really been familiar with Metric for....probably the past couple years. So I'm still working on familiarizing myself with them.

5. When I mentioned Sick Muse (by Metric), it reminded me of the band Muse. My favorite song by them would likely be Uprising, though Knights of Cydonia is pretty good as well. Muse probably isn't one of my favorite bands, but well...they popped into my head and therefore make the list!

Now this has been long, so I'm calling it quits! (Seriously....half {if not all} of you probably passed out 5 minutes ago)...

Au revoir for meow:)!

RANDOM FACT ABOUT ME -- Often times, when I sing along with music...I don't even realize I'm doing it! I don't know if that would be considered skilled, or simply just thoroughly annoying (though either way, I think it's still skills) ;) Toodles!

Do the due....

THE FONDUE THAT IS ;)
(Oh jeez..... -.-)

Kssoooooo (queso = delicious!), W is officially married! SO I've been in the Bridge for the weekend, and it was pretty good! Good to see everyone, good to get a mani and pedi ;), and good to get some marble slab :D. The wedding was a success, as they're married now. Anyways, it went reasonably smoothly...I helped W with her hair and makeup. And she did look pretty gorgeous ;> Though it was unfortunate that 1. It was obscenely windy! SERIOUSLY... :\ And 2. Her hair's curliness kind of died by the end...but what can you do? Ya still looked ahhhhmazing ;) So Congrats to W and the giant! Have fun on the honeymoon (gross)... x) I wish you both the best in your "lifetime" together! (so help me...you better get what I mean W)...
And another bonus - I got to see J & A! They're some good friends of mine from...well quite a while ago. (Like....5 yearsish?) They came to W's reception, and it was good to catch up, act ridiculous and dance around ;) Love you guys!

Came back Saturday night after the wedding day! And Lambie, Az Bird (a couple of my sisters) and myself had ourselves a fun time - stampede style ;) 'Nuff said. It was fun...love you guys <3

Sunday! Was a kind of special day for Strongbad! I won't go into details...as they aren't my details to give. But congratulations to you :). It was good to meet some of your family. Francesca and I managed to get an invite to a family fondue! It was delicious! Great times, great food! Thanks so much to his Aunt and Uncle! Fabulous log house that he's built and is still a work in progress - very nice though.
So fondue - we had cheese, broth, and oil fondue with just tons of delicious little morsels! And later we even got *wait for it* glorious CHOCOLATE (NUTella heh heh) fondue. 3 words - So. Freaking. Good.
At this little event I even got to meet Strongbad's cousin and also his cousin's wife (no pseudo-names yet) ...who are both fantastic and lots of fun! They have their own blog (which I had been reading before I met them...which made it even more fun to finally meet them!), so by all means... check their blog out! They enjoy photography and have some awesome pictures up and also... they're just amusing and have cute posts (CLICK HERE :D). PS - happy 2 years ;)

So at the end of the night, we were waiting for some band to show up (that I hadn't even heard of before!). I kept thinking...Jeez! Where are these guys?? (Good thing we didn't wait to eat, that would've been unforgivable {as they came quite late in the evening}). But finally they came and it was TOTALLY worth the wait! These guys are awesome! Very entertaining and also talented~! So the band is called Behind Sapphire and I'd say their style is kind of a cross between folk and indie and other things.... haha. And you all should check them out! I'll put up a link {link} to their page... or you can youtube them. You should youtube them singing Nearer my God to Thee - really good! (Plus these guys are LDS) :o
So shoutout to Grant (vocals), Brayden (bass), Matt (guitar), and Steven (drums). It was absolutely fantastic meeting you all! You're all full of personality and it was a blast hanging out with you!
Anyone in Lethbridge on Wednesday night.... they'll be playing at the Owl Acoustic Lounge at around 9(?). Want more details, let me know. But really - check 'em out ;)

AND THAT IS IT!

How're things with you, general audience? :D

Toodles for meow :)!

RANDOM FACT ABOUT ME -- Well first off, I'm a new Blue Sapphire fan ;) And second...I now have a Sunfire! (car). I traded in the little GEO {I still love you I swears!} for a new (kay, well not brand new) sunfire :D So yay! I miss the GEO a little bit...but overall the sunfire is better ;)

To blog or not to blog? - that is the question...

Not to blog.

*sigh* I reckon I can get one up reasonably quick :P

Alrighty! So, I got back from Texas last Wednesday...I had a great time and I loved the weather. I frequently tell people I miss Texas and well, I still do! But it's good to get back to "the real world" (I guess...).

There were many fun times of swimming, boating, shopping, rock banding, and just plain old hanging out.
3 sisters and myself even made a little trip to New Orleans. It was definitely interesting - a city with character. It was unlike any place I had ever been and the buildings, music, people and so on were all unique. As far as I could tell, they seemed to have recovered quite nicely from Katrina.
If I could share 3 things from New Orleans it would be...
1. If you're a picky eater, it's VERY difficult to find places to eat. My sisters and I were all slightly picky making it even MORE difficult. A little place called Stanley's came to our rescue on a couple of occasions. Plus it was delicious ;) Also...never fear - there's a Hard Rock Cafe :D The people were fun, and it was delicious! (I had never been before...)
2. Take some sort of tour. We took a horse and buggy tour for a little over an hour and it was definitely interesting and fun (and bloody hot!)
3. If you take a ride on the trolley, either stay energized by talking...or bring something to keep you from crashing (onto the floor from exhaustion). OH, also - don't go during "rush hour" times if possible. We were on our way back around 5 and I have one thing to say about it... BO D;

And now back to Canada - obviously this is late but HAPPY CANADA DAY :D
(insert imaginary Canada flag here)
As you can clearly tell, I became quite fond of Texas (especially the glorious weather) but ultimately, I'm quite fond of Canada. I'm glad I was born here and I still find it a nice country to be in to this day :)

It's been weird getting back into texting since being back (as my phone was off the entire time I was gone), so please friends...forgive me ;)

A little rundown on my friends upon getting back. Well, the group dynamic has most definitely changed whilst being gone.
Francesca has found herself a new squeeze (I'm using this term lightly here, don't get the wrong idea). Basically...it's someone I haven't done a rundown on yet, but I will when the time is right ;P. Anyways - things seem to be going well so good luck to them ^^ (OH ALSO, Francesca and I went on an 18k walk {in flip flops ._.} on Sunday. Ya...just thought I'd share because I felt accomplished)
Strongbad has also gotten back and seems to be doing well. Yesterday he was showing off his AMAZING (meh, it's alright ;> ) new laptop. It is pretty snazy though. (Ah, another thing I could share, Strongbad was wearing a kilt {yep a skirt} around on Saturday. Apparently he's patriotic {Scottish heritage}.)
Maximus is actually dating someone new (I think). Please don't use me as a reference on
this...
But that's just how it appears to me - so congrats to them ;)
I don't really have an update on BK or White China or Beatrice at this time, as I haven't been able to really hang out or talk to them all that much D: (Sorry...)

OH! So W and the giant get FLIPPIN MARRIED this Saturday. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for you and wish you both the best especially since it's ALMOST HERE! It's just crazy to think about... ._. Anyways, good luck now that it's coming down to the last days guys! Looking forward to this weekend ;)

And I believe that's the basic drift of my life at this point...
So hope all is well with all y'all.

Byeas for meow :)!

RANDOM FACT ABOUT ME -- 1. I don't wear kilt's (well I don't!). 2. I've realized I'm quite addicted to ice cream... 3. This song amuses me, it reminds me of Texas (inside stories). 4. Bruno Mars annoys me so much D: 5. I'm hungry....

PS, I'll add a few pictures from Texas if I can get some off Lambie sometime ;)
